CEBU, QUEEN CITY OF THE SOUTH

Cebu, the Queen City of the South... I couldn't agree more.

Upon our arrival at the Cebu Port, we hired a car in going around the city. Our driver( I already forgot his name, oops sorry) who is very kind and accommodating even helped us find a hotel. We did have a reservation but he advice us to look for another one which is cheaper but offer same amenities. He's knows very well his history, I think he could pass as a tourist guide.
After we had finally decided on what hotel to stay, he patiently  waited for us for our city tour.
We were passed by the oldest street, Colon Street, in the country amidst the traffic

going to the Heritage of Cebu Monument
few steps away, just across the street is the Yap-Sandiego Ancestral House
We did not look inside the old house  instead we went to Casa Gorordo, which is just few blocks away
Like the Ancestral house we did not get inside too because picture taking is not allowed aside from there is entrance fee. :)
Next, The Museo Sugbo
This museum is the old prison. My connotation every time i hear " museum" : old things, antiques and BORING if done with a tourist guide. The first two is inevitable in most museum but surprisingly i didn't got bored. The tourist guide or tourist gay (joke!, hahahah) did a good job, very very good job indeed. The fact is, we got disappointed when the driver asked us to leave ahead of the other tourist because we need to rush to the Taoist Temple because it's nearly closing time. Unfortunately, it was closed already when we arrived there. (hay!)
We then proceeded to Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral, that time there was on going mass .
Afterwards we then went to the Magellan Cross just in front of the City Hall.
And of course the Basilica of Sto. Nino
I even joined the line  to the encased Statue of Sto.Nino.
After we had said our prayers, we then went straight to Fort San Pedro
To cap the night, we went up to the Tops. The view is good but I think  it's overrated and  better to go up  there during  daytime if you really want to see the view.
The following day, we had the same driver. Since we were not able to visit Taoist Temple the night before, we  went to see it before heading to Mactan to see the Lapu-lapu shrine

ON the way to the Lapu Lapu Monument in  Mactan, we passed by this bridge, The Marcelo Fernan bridge.
And before going to the airport the driver made us stopped over  and looked around Shangrila.
