MUSEO SUGBO
The Museo Sugbo is Cebu's provincial Museum. it used to be "Carcel de Cebu", the provincial jail of Cebu.
Construction probably begun in 1871.It is believed that most of the coral stone blocks from the Parian Church, which was demolished in 1878- were used to build parts of the jail. After 20 years of use. it was renovated in 1892, which added more buildings behind the main structure that now serves as the first galleries of the museum. The new Provincial detention was transferred on December 2004 in a more modern prison complex. Thus the structure turned into museum now serves as repository of cebuano heritage in August 5, 2008.
The National Historic marker at the Museo Sugbo was unveiled on August 13, 2009.
Also inaugurated is The Well of Good health and Happiness , Spanish era well that was unearthed when the rear portion of the Museo complex was spruced up in 2009.
