WAT CHEDI CHET THAEW

Wat Chedi Chet Thaew(thaeo) is located opposite Wat Chang Lom to the south. The most important constructions at this temple are the main chedi with lotus bud-shaped top and 33 subordinate chedis believed to contain the remains of the royal family.
The chedis are adorned with Buddha images and other stucco decorative images reflecting various art styles, including Sri Langkan, Pagan and Srivijay.

This Temple dates from the 15th C and was constructed to enshrine the remains of the ruling families.

The major chedi is adorned by a large lotus bud crown and is highly distinctive of the Sukhothai style.

To the front is a smaller version chedi with a niche enclosing a stucco Buddha image in meditation atop a coiled naga.
The fenced enclosure also has numerous chedis in rows, thus giving rise to the literal interpretation of the name '' seven rows of Chedis.
