I toured the Vatican gardens as part of my
“Vatican By Trains: Vatican Full Day “ ticket. For 40 euro you will have the opportunity to visit the vast Vatican Museum and guided tour of the Barberini garden in Albano Laziale.
It was my first time to see the sprawling
gated Papal gardens. But before I
set foot in the fabulous gardens I thought I would not be able to make it on
time at the designated meeting point. I was so engross at all the paintings,
sculptures and other displays in the Vatican Museum. I had to run- ala-“amazing race” down the lengthy corridors of the
Museum. It was exactly 10Am when I reached the “Giardino Quadrato”
. Whew! First batch was already complete
hence I joined the second group. They are so strict with time so better not be
late because they will never let you in even if you paid.
meeting point for the Garden Tour |
that's the gate to the Vatican Gardens. it is always closed until a group with a guide will enter |
a portion of the Giardino Quadrato |
There were three Vatican guards who guided us all
throughout. One who leads us and the others at the back of the group. You have to stay in your group during the entire walking tour. They will wait for you if you
stop even just to take a photo. Didn’t I tell that they are strict!
Here are the photos I took inside the Vatican Gardens.
