I came to know Casa
Per Ferie Madre Nazarena through my
friend who is a nun. She belongs
to the Figlie Del Divino Zelo congregation who owns and operates the said
establishment. I was supposed to visit
her only but I decided to stay over because there were no more trains available
going to Milan. From that day on I always stay in Casa per Ferie whenever I am
in Rome. I longed its tranquilness. I
just love staying here. It’s my home away from home.
Don’t be surprised if
the receptionist is also a nun I told you they run the hotel and it is
actually located inside the convent’s compound.
Security will not be your problem including your cars. They have ample and secured parking.
This is a no frills
type accommodation. It is simple yet
very clean and orderly. It has basic amenities just like what you could find in hotels like towels,
television and toiletries. And not
because it is in a convent doesn’t mean you will be totally “out of the
world” just ask the receptionist for the
Free wifi password to stay connected.

There is a separate dining room and refreshment area wherein you can buy some snacks at the
vending machines. What would be a convent without a Chapel ? If you need to meditate, say a
prayer or solitude just
take a seat and basked yourself into calmness of the
place.
at the end of the corridor is the dining room |
vendo machine in the refreshment area right at the centre of the hallway |
It's location can be easily reach by
taking the Metro Line A bound to
Anagnina alight at the Ponte Lungo Station. Take the Via Albenga exit walk until you reach
the fruit and vegetable vendors
mini market then turn left to Via Acqui. After the bridge turn right
just before the stoplight continue walking. You will passed by the gate of a
school and a Church. The Casa Ferie gate right is next to it.
You may also take bus no. 360 Piazza Zama get off at the
terminus. Cross the small bridge then turn right on Circonvallazione Appia then find the right gate. The bus no. 87 will stop at Via Alfredo
Beccarini , it is the street just across the bridge from Via Acqui. You may also alight at the Largo Don Orione
if you take Bus No. 649.
From Fumicino Airport take the FL1 local train and get off
at Tuscolana Station. It’s a 15-20 minutes.
Follow the street that leads to the Metro Line A Ponte Lungo station and
follow the instruction above. Check my post on how to reach Rome’s city center
from the airport.
If you rather want to bring your car take the Exit(Uscita)
23 Appio San Giovanni. Another good
thing about the place is that they have onsite secured parking which is very
rare in Rome. Never worry about your car
because it is right inside the gated compound.
